Infrared Satellite Layer

Infrared Satelite.png
IR

IR Satellite Imagery provides cloud density data. In simple terms, we can see how high cloud formations rise based on how cold IR imagery records them. The colder the cloud formation is, the higher it extends because temperature falls as we go higher. The colder the cloud the more likely it is to produce rain. The temperature structure of clouds also tells meteorologists how hard it may be raining and whether the storm may be producing severe weather.
